Help NAFTZ Shape the Future of Education & Credentials
NAFTZ is launching three project-focused subcommittees under the Accreditation Committee to strengthen continuing education, improve Fundamentals training, and shape the future of the Advanced Zone Specialist (AZS) credential.
We are looking for thoughtful, engaged volunteers who want to help build the next generation of NAFTZ education and credentialing programs.
What to Expect at a Glance
Three project-focused subcommittees operating under the Accreditation Committee.
Approximately 5-9 volunteers per group.
Generally meets about once per month for 1 hour.
Expect 1-2 additional hours per month for reading, drafting, and project work.
Work will continue as long as necessary; some projects may extend beyond one year.
Each group will be led by two volunteer co-chairs.
Volunteers may express interest in more than one subcommittee. Please consider whether you have the time to remain active and contribute meaningfully to each group.

Third-Party Continuing Education Approval
Help expand high-quality continuing education options for CZS and AZS holders.
- Develop a consistent process for advanced approval of third-party educational programs.
- Define provider and program requirements, CE credit, review process, and quality controls.
- Increase access to relevant education without reducing appropriate standards.
Fundamentals Content & Instructor Development
Help make Fundamentals more practical, consistent, and effective for the next generation of FTZ professionals.
- Enhance content with real-world examples, cases, exercises, and scenarios.
- Strengthen instructor preparation, onboarding, mentoring, and Train-the-Trainer support.
- Improve consistency across instructors and delivery formats.
AZS Strategic Review & Qualifications
Help define what it should mean to be an Advanced Zone Specialist.
- Examine the purpose, competencies, and qualification requirements of the AZS credential.
- Develop a shared advanced core with role-based specializations.
- Explore additional areas of advanced practice that may warrant separate recognition.
Each subcommittee will be led by two volunteer co-chairs working with NAFTZ staff and the Accreditation Committee.
You do not need to be a credentialing expert. We are looking for people who understand the subject area, work well with others, and can help keep a project moving.
NAFTZ committee service is generally limited to members.
You do not need previous committee experience or professional credentialing expertise to participate.
We will consider each volunteer's experience, connection to the subject matter, and the overall balance of the group.
Because the subcommittee will remain intentionally small, we may not be able to place every interested volunteer.
