On February 11, NAFTZ members will have an opportunity to influence public policies over FTZs by visiting Capitol Hill and meeting their elected representatives and staff. In addition, members can join other FTZ advocates in educating Congress about the issues that affect their business and tell the story of how FTZs contribute to the U.S. economy.
NAFTZ’s 2020 Legislative Summit and Congressional Visits Day is your opportunity to become briefed on the latest Federal policy developments and FTZ industry priorities, and then to take that information up to the Hill to make sure your own Senators and Representatives understand the importance of the FTZ program and what they need to do to ensure it continues to promote American business and jobs throughout the nation.
Your FTZ colleagues across the country need YOU to deliver the message about the value of FTZs to your own Senators and Representatives. There is no substitute for face-to-face meetings with home-state constituents. Please plan NOW to join us in February.
Smith Dawson & Andrews, our public affairs advisor, will host a Congressional Visits webinar typically held in January (more details released closer to the event date) to help you prepare for the meeting. General guidelines, talking points, and materials are provided. This webinar is only open to those registered for the NAFTZ Legislative Summit (call in details were provided to the those who registered and indicated a congressional visit interest). Questions regarding your request for packets and/or webinar attendance email email@example.com.
If you plan to make Hill visits, please start scheduling your meetings right away! NAFTZ staff is happy to help you with any assistance you may require. President and NAFTZ Board Director
“I’ve been coming to NAFTZ’s Legislative Seminars for the past 15 years, and 2018 was by far the best in terms of the high level of government representatives appearing, their level of engagement with the Foreign-Trade Zone program, and the opportunity to interact with many of them one by one.”
