SAVE THE DATE: February 13, 2018 Legislative Summit
& February 14, 2018 Congressional Visits
Once a year, NAFTZ hosts the Legislative Summit, inviting federal government officials, policy makers and industry leaders from the foreign-trade zone community to come to Washington D.C. for a day and a half of legislative briefings and advocacy.
Our prominent lineup of U.S. House and Senate members will provide our members and friends with an inside perspective on legislative priorities and trade outlook for 2018.
On February 14, NAFTZ members will have an opportunity to influence public policies over FTZs by visiting Capitol Hill and meeting their elected representatives and staff. In addition, members can join other FTZ advocates in educating Congress about the issues that affect their business and tell the story of how FTZs contribute to the U.S. economy.
Smith Dawson & Andrews, our public affairs advisor, will host a webinar to help you prepare for the meeting. General guidelines, talking points, and materials are provided. If you plan to make Hill visits, please start scheduling your meetings right away! NAFTZ staff is happy to help you with any assistance you may require. For your convenience, we have drafted sample meeting request letters. Please feel free to download these Word documents and personalize them with your letterhead or anything else you may want to add. Due to security concerns for letters sent to Congress, we suggest making arrangements for meetings via phone, fax, or e-mail.

President and NAFTZ Board Director
“I’ve been coming to NAFTZ’s Legislative Seminars for the past 15 years, and 2016 was by far the best in terms of the high level of government representatives appearing, their level of engagement with the Foreign-Trade Zone program, and the opportunity to interact with many of them one by one.”
