Looking for Activated Zone Storage Space or Have Available Space to Offer?
Foreign-trade zones can ease supply-chain management challenges companies are facing due to the COVID-19 pandemic which include growing bottlenecks resulting from imported merchandise arriving in the U.S. just as consumer demand has plummeted, and disruption to domestic distribution networks.
In an initiative to help alleviate this problem, we are asking Grantees, in particular for permission to add their activated and secure FTZ warehouse and yard space to the existing listing. Please forward this questionnaire to 3PLs, Logistic Providers, and Operator/Users in your zone. Contact Jarmila Zapata at firstname.lastname@example.org to update or remove your listing.
How are Free Zones and Special Economic Zones Impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic?
The World Free Zones Organization (WFZO) has partnered with the Kiel Institute for the World Economy, a research organization based in Germany. They are conducting a follow-up survey on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic within the regular F-WEB survey to better capture the effects on the Free Zones community. A set of special questions on the pandemic are added at the end of the questionnaire to give further insights on the severity of the impact and the needs of Free Zones in these unusual times. The survey only consists of qualitative questions and will take less than 15 minutes of your valuable time.
The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, June 5. Participants will have preferential access to the survey. Sharing your assessment with the Free Zones community will help to better understand the effects of COVID-19 and inform policymakers about the current situation and the needs of Free Zones in these unusual times.
