Annual Legislative & Regulatory Seminar What’s NEW? The 2008 Legislative & Regulatory Seminar has added two new educational tracks on: ICE Compliance, the New I-9 and best practices for Human Resource Personnel. In addition, a Fundamentals of FTZs (Boot Camp) track for all those new to the FTZ Program will be offered. These new offerings will enable companies who work in the FTZ program to send their HR personnel for the only ICE training session available for the industry. The ICE track will offer panel discussions with officials from the government, international trade attorneys, and consultants to provide a balanced perspective on ICE compliance. In addition, the NAFTZ will offer a Fundamentals of FTZs track which will provide a concise opportunity to learn how the FTZ Program is structured, how benefits are accrued and the necessary requirements of FTZ participation, with an emphasis on trade facilities and FTZ procedures.
Early registration ends January 24, 2008. ICE Track Only - HR Personnel only have the option to register for the half-day ICE Track from 8 AM – 12 PM. Human Resources professionals will benefit from this in depth discussion of I-9 compliance and the programs offered by the government for verification of employment authorization for new hires. Don't miss this opportunity to learn about this issue from the DHS and from seasoned immigration law practitioners. Any attendee who refers an HR representative from their company to attend the half-day ICE track will receive a $50 discount on his or her registration fee. ICE Track registration fee includes continental breakfast and lunch. All other registrations include seminar materials, refreshment breaks, continental breakfast, luncheon and congressional reception.
