This seminar provides an opportunity to learn how the FTZ program is structured, how benefits are accrued, and the necessary requirements of FTZ participation in a concise format. It will provide an overview of the entire FTZ program with an emphasis on trade facilitation and FTZ procedures.

 

OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this seminar, the participant will be able to:

  1. Explain the purpose of the Foreign-Trade Zone Program

  2. Distinguish between the two types of zones

  3. Understand the roles and responsibilities of key entities in the Foreign-Trade Zone Program

  4. List both the tangible and intangible benefits of foreign-trade zones

  5. Explain the foreign-trade zone approval process

  6. Identify the required elements of the zone activation process

  7. Describe the procedures governing the movement of merchandise into, within, and out of the zone

  8. Pinpoint the reporting requirements related to foreign-trade zones

The National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones (NAFTZ) is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor for continuing professional education of the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. The State boards of Accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Please note that there is no prerequisite or advanced preparation required to attend this seminar. A total of 10 CPE credits will be offered by attending this seminar. REFUND POLICY

Registration fees are fully refundable for cancellations received in writing by December 20, 2007. Cancellation received between December 21, 2007 and January 4, 2008 will receive a 50 % credit of the registration fee towards a 2008 NAFTZ meeting. Cancellations that are received after January 4, 2008 will not be issued a refund. All cancellation requests MUST be in writing, faxed to 202-331-1994, and confirmed by NAFTZ. Refunds will be issued within 30 days following the meeting.
